Description
About 100 years ago, the Austrian Franz Schreker counted among the most important opera composers of his time. As a teacher, he also paved the way for an entire generation of composers. In this moderated concert, we follow the traces of those whom Schreker taught in Berlin between 1920 and 1933. The focus is on his Polish students: Karol Rathaus, Jerzy Fitelberg, Władysław Szpilman, and Ignace Strasfogel, whose works were excluded from the musical canon by National Socialism.
