Viola is an instrument. She’s a little bit bigger than the violin, but still rather small. So it’s quite exciting that she received an invitation to a party. It’s supposed to take place in a castle, and there will be really royal music there. Viola sets off and immediately meets a whole family of instruments: all of them recorders! Some are smaller and some are bigger than she is. Without a lot of scenery or props, just a lot of imagination, and, above all, wonderful music aplenty, the six artists tell a story from bygone days, from 400 years ago! Even back then, lavish parties were thrown. The audience is invited to listen, watch, and, most importantly, sing and dance along.
Judith Koblmüller plays the viola and is a music and theatre teacher, too. She played the role of the mini.music heroine Antonella at the Brucknerhaus Linz for several years and also regularly appears as CliniClown Dr. Bella Probella.
Element of Prime is a recorder consort from Upper Austria that has been performing for over ten years and released a beautiful CD in 2025. Some adults will recognise the pun, as there is also a band called Element of Crime! “Prime” means “highlight” or “crowning glory” – in other words, really great! And a consort is a group of instruments of the same type. In this case, they are recorders. Around twelve of them will be play at the castle party.
