Description
“On the 17th of Octebruary, when the cats greet, you wear sandals in your hair and hats on your feet.” (James Krüss)
15 new children’s songs. 15 little stories. Songs to sing along to. Stories that amaze us, touch us, or create fantastic images in our heads. Word creations so absurd and funny you just want to laugh out loud. This time, composer Elisabeth Naske, known for her children’s operas, among other things, has taken on the art form of songs. She collected very different texts from famous authors and word acrobats: classic ballads as well as nursery rhymes and nonsense poems. Naske set these texts to music in her own unmistakable and contemporary way. She uses elements of folk music, classical chamber music, and tops it off with some jazz and pop. The instrumentation ranges from dulcimer to contrabass. The plots of the stories subtly unfold in the dramatic performances by the vocalists and their musical companions.
