Cultural Education at the Klangraum Krems Minoritenkirche

Children's music theatre productions take place at the Klangraum Krems Minoritenkirche at least twice a year (since 2019 also as part of the KINDER.KUNST.FEST of the Kunstmeile Krems on the bank holidays).

In addition to performances for primary schools, the Klangraum Krems Minoritenkirche also offers a cultural education programme in the form of participatory projects. This includes an annual sound workshop as part of the KINDER.KUNST.FEST as well as the weekly dialogue-based art information offered by art educators from the Kunstmeile as part of the sound art presentations. Multi-year school partnerships have proven to be particularly constructive: (e.g. a successful collaboration with the general special school in Krems, which was established as part of the former Kulturkontakt Austria programme "Blickwechsel"). Under the guidance of a professional cultural mediator, artists and scholarship holders from the AIR Artists in Residence Krems programme are involved in workshops.

The focus is always on the major theme of "sound": How are different sounds created? How do they change in different spatial conditions? What tools can I use to create them myself? How can I process them electronically? How does sound become music?

We are also happy to organise tailor-made workshops or guided tours for different target groups on request.
