Klangraum Krems Minoritenkirche

At the Kontraste festival an act will be presented as the result of a workshop with the group “I – Picnic” taking place in August and accessible for participants of any background from Krems and its surroundings. Even if no previous art or music education is required for the workshop, “I – Picnic” point at the high quality of the generated works which may integrate all kinds of musical instruments.

“I – Picnic” are composed of several Far-Eastern Gamelan musicians, as well as a composer, a cameraman and a dancer from Japan. The group regards itself as an aggregate and platform for improvisation and has been around since 2004. Among others, they have worked together with people from Japan, England, Thailand, Indonesia, Germany, Holland, the USA, Canada, and Australia.
