A cheerful family concert

Wolfgang-Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi, Johannes Brahms, Emmanuel Séjourné (marimba concert)

Music in the morning adds zest to the day. Exactly what a matinee interspersed with dance rhythms has in store, but also what the rousing and lively interpretations of the Vienna Classical Players promise under the guidance of conductor Martin Kerschbaum. The programme of this Sunday morning begins with a “divertimento” by Mozart. Divertimento is a musical genre with a cheerful, entertaining, and dance-like character. Directly translated, it means amusement and fun. And just that is spread by the two violinists Dominika Falger and Ela Sojka in their Vivaldi concert as does percussionist Lucy Landymore with her marimba. What is a marimba, you might ask? Ulla Pilz, the charming and suave moderator of the concert will tell you more about this particularly beautifully sounding instrument, a sister of the xylophone, and much more. Good moods guaranteed!
