Wolfgang Suppan “Unverbesserliche Lippen” | “Incorrigible Lips” (2018), world premiere
This year a cooperation between the Music Salon of the Austrian National Library Vienna and the Imago Dei Festival will take place for the first time. In the intimate atmosphere of the Music Salon, members of Ensemble Platypus together with Jaime Wolfson perform chamber music works by Tamara Friebel and Wolfgang Suppan: “Awakened Flutters – Sappho Fragments in Ancient Greek” for soprano and violin by Tamara Friebel; and two works by Wolfgang Suppan: “Ulam” for two bass clarinets and the world premiere of three songs based on texts by French poet René Char from his work cycle “Incorrigible Lips”.
The Imago Dei Festival has commissioned the two composers with large-scale works. In a conversation with artistic director Nadja Kayali, the artists will provide background insights into the works at the Music Salon.
In cooperation with the Austrian National Library. More information under www.onb.ac.at.
