The relentless Western quest for the light finds a counterpart in the radiant beauty of shadows as perceived from a Far Eastern perspective. In the Klangraum Krems the audience will experience balanced sounds from the clarinet duo The International Nothing and a ying-yang roundelay of sound, colour, and dance performed by Akio Suzuki, Aki Onda, Miki Yui, and Hiromi Miyakita. The German clarinet duo Kai Fagaschinski and Michael Thieke draws attention to poetically nuanced shades of sound in the work “In Doubt We Trust”. The famous Japanese sound artist Akio Suzuki, together with his musical partner Aki Onda from New York, will elevate the echo of the architecture and acoustics of the Minorite Church to a decisive element of the performance with their self-made instruments. In the piece “Color” Suzuki and sound illustrator Miki Yui, accompanied by dancer Hiromi Miyakita, decode the primary colours of light.
