Trails of Blood – A Sacrificial Ceremony

A sacrificial feast, music for sacrificial rituals, and a sacrificial veil await the audience on Palm Sunday. Antonin Artaud’s “Theatre of Cruelty” serves as a departure point for a metaphysical and sensual sacrificial ceremony. In this world premiere in the Minorite Church the action artist Paul Renner, the cook Josef Floh, the visual artist Friederike Feldmann, the filmmaker and actress Barbara Sotelsek, and the composer Alexander Moosburger combine and interweave their powers in a multimedia performance. A percussive, rhythmic “knocking piece” sacrifices all melody and harmony in a ritual act. The evening and the space will be intersected by a sacrificial veil, reminiscent of the veil in the holy temple in Jerusalem, which was torn at the moment of Jesus’ death.
