Glatt&Verkehrt at the Klangraum Krems Minorite Church

Tradition and innovation, the old and the new are as closely connected as the stitches in a knitting pattern—it is within this field of tension that music has been made since 1997 in summer time within the Wachau wine vineyards at the Glatt & Verkehrt festival (a co-event of Radio Ö1). This festival is not asking for styles and genres, but for regions, origins and roots. One thing to connect all performing artists from all over the world—be it in the field of traditional folk music, jazz, classical music or the avant-garde—is the premise to make music that does not deny its roots. Many groups have never played in Austria before and are invited to get to know the location beyond any tour routines. Additionally, the festival initiates new projects that involve regional musicians. The Workshop for Musicians at the Göttweig Monastery with opening and closing concerts, performances at the Marillenkirtag Spitz, the Heurigen Zöhrer, and at the Klangraum Krems Minorite Church compliment the 5-day main program in the unique atmosphere of the inner court of the Winzer Krems.

	July 17, 8 pm, Klangraum Krems Minorite Church Maja Osojnik & Band feat. Schnittpunkt Vokal - Cira Cara The Klangraum sounds and glows: a concert in several parts including acoustic and visual installations. A richly cast premiere in co-operation with musik aktuell and Radio Ö1.
	July 24, 7 pm, Klangraum Krems Minorite Chruch Erwin Steinhauer reads H.C. Artmann - Dracula, Dracula "When reading good texts, I don't see phrases, I see people." (E. Steinhauer) Images, tales, music - infected by Eastern Europe. Bloody and blazing. A text of world literature quality accompanied by sounds of world music quality!
