Jean-Guihen Queyras, Bijan Chemirani, Keyvan Chemirani, Sokratis Sinopoulos Western-Eastern Traces

Works from Thrace – Sunday Morning Sessions by Marco Stroppa, Ross Daly, Sokratis Sinopoulos, György Kurtag, Witold Lutoslawski, Mohammad Reza Lotfi, Franck Leriche

Thrace – home of the singer Orpheus and the gods Apollo and Dionysus, which today comprises three countries and cultures: Greece, Turkey, and Bulgaria – is the musical gravitation point for a French cellist, two percussionists with Iranian roots, and a Greek musician with a lyra, a Byzantine string instrument: “T(h)race” will be a Western-Eastern search for traces with musical improvisations and compositions between Oriental and Occidental traditions and avant-garde.
