Concept Kontraste

Each year in fall the Klangraum Krems Minorite Church hosts the small but mighty music festival KONTRASTE to pick up specific musical themes, genres and movements and to provide a broad spectrum of space-related concepts between performance and sound art, as well as interdisciplinary projects beyond mainstream and current trends.

The maxims of the program are based on the joy of discovery, programmatic diversity and an open change of perspectives. The building up of contrasts, surprising moments, humor, and a movement against the mainstream are the major challenges for the recipient interested in music.

After "Ladies solo" 2003 and "Seltsame Musik" ("Strange Music") 2004 the Klangraum Krems Minorite Church presented "puls&schlag / beats&pulses" in 2005—a festival of pulsating, beating, percussive, and hovering sounds.

The 2006 theme "SoundMovingImage" – Music & Film, Sound & Image, Sound & Visuals centers around the auditory and visual displayed as a homogenous partnership in contrasting styles.
